Wooden snuffbox with Masonic motifs and mother-of-pearl inlays, mid-19th century, 7.6 x 13 cm. The ensemble forms a ‘French-style’ Masonic decoration evoking the Temple and its decorum, with J and B columns on three steps, joined in a semicircle to form the vault, a trowel, mallet, chisel, pentagram and delta surrounding the crossed square and compass.
