Faience teapot.
Title

Faience teapot.

Caption

Teapot (without lid) in coloured English earthenware from Leeds, early 19th century, height 14.5 cm and 22 cm.
The male figure is placed beneath the compass with the inscription ‘Keep within compass’. Curiously, for the Anglo-Saxon tradition, there is an identical female version.
