Title
Faience plate.
Caption
A low-fired earthenware plate from La Rochelle bearing the initials of the “Union Parfaite” lodge (the oldest in the region), 23.5 cm, dating from the mid-18th century.
Whilst the rim features an interesting design of three rows of three tools, the centre is decorated with an intriguing horseshoe-shaped composition, which was subsequently often copied.
